All is Merry and Bright!

It is time for the big studio reveal!  Just a few days ago, I posted about decorating an adorable space for Christmas and it is now done.  I think I need some toothpicks in my eyes to keep myself awake as I have been thinking and dreaming non-stop about this decorating for the last several days.  When I haven’t been thinking about it, I have been putting the pieces together, cutting ribbon, stringing lights, covering myself and everything else in glitter, and having a holly jolly time.

When I set to work creating a space, I try to envision what I want it to look like when it is done, but most of the time, I just go with the flow and let inspiration take over.  I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted for this space, but when you are working on a very limited budget and trying to use as much thrift store goodness as you can, you have to learn to be creative and improvise.  I find my inspiration while perusing the shelves and aisles of the local thrift stores and big box stores.  I rarely buy anything that is already created, but instead find bits and pieces of things that I can put together in whatever why the spirit moves.  I prefer originals instead of something right out of the box!

When I walked into the studio a couple of days ago to start the decorating this is what it looked like…

Studio Before6

Because of the bright colors in the space, I decided to use equally bright Christmas decor.  Traditional red and green just would not work in this place!  To make it pop, I went away from the traditional green tree to a much more whimsical all white tree.  And I am so glad I did.  The bright colors pop right off the tree and add so much drama.  To say I am in love with this tree is a complete understatement!

Are you ready for this?  I am so excited to reveal this!  I wish you could all see it in person because it is so much fun, but pictures will have to suffice…

Studio After4

Seriously, that white tree is amazing!  I had no idea when I bought it at Wal-mart for $40.00 just how much I would love it, but I LOVE IT!!

Want the grand total of what I spent on EVERYTHING?

This includes the tree, all decor, ornaments, art, a door wreath, and ALL!

$189.60!!!

Tomorrow I will show pictures of all the detail shots from the space so you can get up close and personal with all the goodies 🙂
